Malini Raman-Middleton

​Hi I'm Malini  an actor and filmmaker based in Catford, South London. I studied film production at London Screen Academy. I am also an alumni of Ghetto Film School. Growing up in a mixed Hindu and Jewish family in a culturally and economically diverse part of London, I use film to explore identity, belonging and social justice. My short film 'Jhumki' was shortlisted for the UK Asian Film Festival 2024 and won the Philadelphia Youth Film festival. I was selected for the Soho Theatre Writer's lab where I wrote ‘Period Drama’ which she is currently developing. I also recently worked on Abaayo, a short film directed in Vancouver with Ghetto Film School which is currently in post-production.

My interest in film began through art and visuals which then led me down the route of moving images and film. I have always enjoyed working in groups and collaboration with other people which has greatly helped my film development.
